I take shark-diving safety seriously and I hope you do too. I never want anyone to lose a limb, life or loved one. If an accident occurs, sharks could be blamed or killed in retaliation. Our responsibility is to protect guests, crew & the sharks’ reputation. That’s why @OneOceanDiving safety divers train extensively before guiding alone. Sharing our safety training process:

Before training, interested people can voluntarily join trips as often as they want to observe/shadow, see if it’s a fit & let us assess base water skills. They cannot get seasick & must have a minimum 90-second breath-hold to start actual training. This time allows them to build h20 skills + dial gear.

During training, daily hours depend on weather, bookings & how much time they choose to commit. Compensation varies: some train part-time while working other jobs or company roles; some receive stipends and free housing. Most trainees make social posts from training notes & receive pay per post.All applicants are screened & informed of training and post-sign-off rates in advance so they can decide financials.

We request 2–3-year noncompetes due to training expenditure but haven’t enforced them in 6+ years &
NDA’s protect projects.

Training takes 1–3 months depending on skill & learning speed. People who do part-time take longer. We encourage, not require, a 30-day challenge to build muscle memory & experience the intensity of working with apex predators even when tired while not responsible for guests, under an actual safety diver & divemaster.That’s the training I’d want for anyone guiding my family. Trainees take time off as needed; no one has been cut for personal time off.

Before sign-off, divers must deter/redirect sandbar, Galápagos & tiger sharks; recognize behaviors leading to close approaches; help guests follow safety rules; respond effectively to 🦈 behavior; and complete bite-response, emergency-equipment & COI drills. #Socialites, come get into this. We hear crazy HOA stories all the time, but this time the drama landed on Eva Marcille’s front porch. According to TMZ, the former model and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star is being sued by her homeowners association, and she has no plans to fold. Her team says she’s ready to fight back.

Per the outlet, the association is seeking over $22,000 in past assessments and fines over alleged violations of the neighborhood’s maintenance standards. In the filing, the complaint points to untreated weeds, an unmowed lawn, inoperable or improperly registered vehicles, and trash cans left in public view. The HOA claims she had plenty of chances to get into compliance and didn’t, and it wants a judge to order her to clean it all up.

Of course, Eva who’s very vocal, isn’t sitting quietly about this. We reached out to her for a statement and she already had one prepared by her attorney, Michael T. Sterling of Sterling 925. Leaving zero room for any confusion, Sterling says, “Let me be absolutely clear: Eva Marcille Sterling is NOT going to lose her home over weeds in her lawn or a vehicle parked outside her residence. Period.”
