Will you have to remain on a GLP1 in order to maintain weight loss? If you don’t make lifestyle changes, yes. If you make the proper lifestyle changes, no. But yes, that will require you to do things that might not be as comfortable or make sacrifices. Some people WILL have a harder time than others. Life is not fair and we are not dealt the same hand.

HOWEVER if you simultaneously start taking a GLP1 to AID in the process of losing weight but seek to learn and adapt on how weight loss and weight maintenance works, you can absolutely keep the weight off. But it will be a learning process for sure.

This is not to bash the doctor by the way. Often medical practictioners speak in generalities because they do not have the time/bandwidth to go through people’s indidual circumstances/lives to help them make specific decisions. And it is not wrong to say the majority of people will regain weight. But it is wrong to say it’s not up to them to keep the weight off if they are willing to learn and adapt.
