It’s hard sometimes to put into words how moving an experience in the mountains can be. This week I found myself in awe of the central coast mountains of British Columbia, in @bellacoolahelisports tenure. In all my travels through the winter world I hadn’t experienced so much variety between glacial fields, vertical relief, old growth forests, and lush river valleys as those that I witnessed in Bella Coola. A last minute trip at the end of winter with friends old and new was truly so profound and powerful I am deeply grateful it came together. My wife @kittredhead had guided for years there and my daughter even moved through these mountains in utero, so it felt truly moving to be the last member of my family to experience such grandeur. We were blessed with ample sunshine and I was able to revisit my old skills of looking at massive terrain and seeing the places that looked fun to move through. Snowboarding has been such a massive part of my life and yet there are some places on Earth that truly magnify the senses and make me feel so deeply grateful for all these experiences I’ve been able to live on and because of a board. Thank you to all the staff @bellacoolahelisports for running such a world class operation. From the chefs, to the pilots, the lodge staff and the guides, you were all incredible and I can’t wait to visit you all again 🙏🏼
