Danantara Indonesia mengambil alih pengelolaan PLN Batam dari PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero). Ini buntut mati listrik massal alias blackout yang sempat melanda Batam dan Bintan—wilayah yang diprospek pemerintah untuk menjadi hub industri digital kawasan Asia Tenggara. “Langkah ini ditujukan untuk mendukung pengembangan potensi perusahaan, peningkatan layanan kelistrikan, serta daya tarik investasi kawasan Batam,” kata Chief Operating Officer (COO) Danantara, Dony Oskaria, dalam siaran pers, dikutip pada Kamis (15/10). Berbeda dengan unit PLN di daerah lainnya, PLN Batam menjalankan model bisnis mandiri tanpa menerima subsidi maupun kompensasi dari pemerintah. Danantara menilai PLN Batam memiliki potensi untuk terus berkembang seiring dengan posisi Batam sebagai salah satu motor penggerak perekonomian Indonesia dan tujuan investasi.
