A night I will cherish forever. ❤️🇮🇹

Last night, I was honored with a Career Award at the Matera Fiction Festival, and my heart is filled with gratitude.

To receive this recognition in Italy makes it even more meaningful. For over four decades, Italy and the Italian people have embraced, supported, and celebrated me and the character I have the privilege of bringing to life. There is a truly special connection between us, one that goes far beyond the screen. The love I continue to receive from this country is something I will never take for granted.

I was also proud to wear the Women Supporting Women collection by @giuliaitsmejewelry, because empowering women, celebrating their achievements, and using my platform to amplify their voices will always be a cause close to my heart.

A heartfelt thank you to @ale_ssiofilippelli for making this beautiful moment possible, and to Giuseppe, Valeria, and the entire incredible team at the Matera Fiction Festival for such a memorable evening.

Four decades of stories, unforgettable moments, and so much love. Grazie di cuore, Italia. 🇮🇹❤️

RELIGIOUS TRAUMA EXPLAINED #religioustrauma #explained

I usually don’t get emotional on here but today is going to be a little bit different…

When I got the call to be part of the Texas Tailgaters and Bananaball I uprooted my whole life and got down to Savannah Georgia in a matter of days. I had no idea what to expect or how I was going to fit in being as I was a late addition to the team. The first couple weeks came with a lot of self judgement and sacredness that I wasn’t going to mesh with the culture that had been created here already. But boy I could not have been more wrong.

As the season went on these guys (and girl) showed me more love and support than I could have ever imagined. From allowing me to be myself to treating me like I’ve been there since day 1 it felt like as the season went we just kept getting closer and closer. Every single person on this team has helped me become a better player, and more importantly a better person and I appreciate every single person on this team more than they know.

My life has been far from perfect with my parents divorcing at a young age, to my mom passing away when I was 12 and my dad passing away when I was 20. It always felt like something bad was going to happen to me or everyone around me. But this team has showed me otherwise. No matter how hard the season got or how many injuries we had, there was always some fight left in the tank. It didn’t matter what the situation was there was no complaining, just doing. That stuck with me. This team showed me that no matter how low you are you always have a chance as long as you fight.

This team fought hard all year and I could not have been more proud of this group of teammates. I can confidently say I have met some of the greatest people and met some of my greatest friends on this team and I don’t take a single one of them for granted. It has been a surreal experience playing with the Texas Tailgaters and I couldn’t imagine a better ending than winning the whole thing.

Thank you for not only bringing me in and making me feel like family, but thank you for saving me from my own thoughts and showing me what it is to truly fight if you believe in something.
