Marines getting some hands on the KAC LAMG this week. Conversations after the range indicate there’s at least discussions being had around bringing a belt fed back to the squad. I think some corners of the USMC are starting to realize that the M27 isn’t giving the squad what it needs in firepower and a beltfed organic to the rifle squad needs to come back… could the LAMG be that beltfed? I’ve got a bit of trigger time on the KAC LAMG and LMG in 7.62, and even the Ultimax 100 MK8 (an automatic rifle which is a similar weapon performance wise). While I’m not really sold on the LAMG as a squad automatic weapon for the conventional infantry (in the hands of junior rifleman), I think it’s worlds better than the M27. Perhaps a new approach could be made with multiple LAMGs per squad and more moderate loadouts to distribute that squads volume of fire requirements if the USMC wanted a new approach vs running back the M249s loading those gunners to the gills with ammo. It could be a good start and if it brings that firepower to the squad or at least keeps the conversation then I consider it a positive, what do you all think?

It was great to be back @harvardhbs, this time with my son! He slept through most of class but that’s ok. We successfully completed The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports. I’ve wanted to do it for years but it always lined up with the ballet season and this year I was finally able to participate thanks to being pregnant. Thank you Professor @anitaelberse for this incredible opportunity and to everyone in the class who made it such an inspiring time. You’re all the goats!
