I hope all of you are doing well! Although, it doesn’t seem like we have been away that long (not posting), our world kept right on spinning and moving forward with incredible speed! Let me take a moment and update everyone in three main areas of our lives. The girls … Missing Al/ dating … The future… The girls … We have had 3 birthdays, went back to school, and a lot more. Our friends and family have carried the load and made me look like a much better dad than I am. Aly/ Dating … The girls and I miss Aly every day, but on the flip side, we also have a ton of fun things going on and they are truly excited about the future. I am so grateful at how they are able to live in the present while looking to the future at their ages. I wake up every day without my best friend. As CS Lewis said, all my thoughts for 23 years started or ended with Aly in mind. Every single one. She was the reason I wanted to be great or do good. In the immediate days after Aly transitioned, I swore, I wouldn’t be fast to move forward. A couple of close friends that were widowers warned me to be ok if that mindset changed and it did. For multiple reasons, mine and Aly’s situation wasn’t the same as someone who experiences sudden, unexpected, catastrophic loss. I miss having a friend to call or text, to serve/ love, to think about, date and yes go to sleep with and wake up to. And in late July, things began to change.
