Hello, what is your best advice for attacking Civil procedure with so many FRCP rules? While I know the biggest rules the sub rules and sub sub rules are harder to memorize.

This is excellent advice. I would add something that seems counterintuitive to many 1Ls: note a key fact or two that’s missing that, if it had been present, would have been relevant to a defense or other argument. It seems strange (or did to me at first), but there are points on most exams for pointing out not only why something is, say, negligence but also why affirmative defenses cannot defeat the claim.
