Not just graduating... continuing the legacy 🎓
On May 15th, I will be graduating from Thee Winston-Salem State University, and I just want to take a moment to thank GOD. Thank you for the wisdom, strength, and patience I needed to make it through this journey. Every step I took was ordered, every challenge had a purpose, and every extra year prepared me for what’s next.
WSSU runs deep in my blood. My dad played football here. My mom cheered here on the same sidelines. This campus is where their love story started, and now it’s where I get to add my chapter to our family’s Ram story. To earn my degree from the same yard that shaped them is more than full circle, it’s legacy.
It took me 5 years because growth isn’t always on a 4 year timeline. I came in as a Biology major thinking I had it all figured out. Switching to Psychology felt like falling behind at the time, but really it was finding where I belonged. Psychology taught me how to listen, how to understand, and how much the mental game matters on the field and in life. That’s why I’m chasing sports psychology. I want to be the voice that helps athletes protect their minds like they protect their bodies.
Now I’m stepping into this next chapter focused, grateful, and ready. I know the road ahead won’t always be easy, but I’m built for it. Whether it’s grad school, working with teams, or creating spaces for healing in our community, just know I’m coming with passion, purpose, and that Ram pride my parents passed down to me.
