@davidoffbrothers showed me this this timeless Daytona from a different era. ⏱️✨

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 6265 is a true vintage icon, capturing the charm and character of an era when Daytona chronographs were still powered by manually wound movements.

Dating back to 1975, this stunning example features a beautiful silver “Sigma” dial with contrasting black subdials. The tiny σ symbols flanking the “T SWISS T” signature at 6 o’clock reveal the use of gold components on the dial, a fascinating detail that makes these vintage references especially desirable among collectors.

Completed by its stainless steel tachymeter bezel and the legendary Valjoux-based Calibre 727, this Daytona perfectly combines timeless aesthetics, racing heritage, and mechanical craftsmanship.

Over 50 years old and still looking absolutely incredible. 🔥

I hope you had a grand ol day!😁 #lumbersnack #sweetdreams #happythoughts #goodnight

Xie Yifei paints entire cities with a palette knife, one rooftop at a time 🏘️

The Chinese oil painter is known for huge, crowded cityscapes packed with colorful houses, balconies, water tanks, laundry lines and tiny windows. Instead of brushes, almost everything is done with a small palette knife. Each stroke lays down thick, textured paint, and he builds the city block by block across the canvas until the blank white surface is completely covered.

Some of these paintings start with a light outline of the buildings. Others he paints straight onto the empty canvas with no sketch at all, finishing each house before moving on to the next. One of them took him from winter all the way to spring, and he joked that it nearly broke his back.

Only at the very end does a fine brush come out, just to sign his name. Step back and the whole scene comes together: pink, blue, terracotta and cream walls stacked up a hillside, full of life and almost real enough to walk into 🎨
