Sometimes, the best decision is knowing when to step back. Unfortunately, a knee injury during practice means I won’t be competing this time. After so many years on skates, I’m incredibly proud of everything I’ve experienced and achieved. Now, more than ever, my motivation is simply to keep enjoying what I love, challenging myself, and sharing special moments with this amazing community. Over the years, I’ve learned that it’s not always about results, medals, or tricks. At this point in my life, real success means being able to keep doing what I love for many more years to come. Competitions come and go, but the passion for skating never fades. Skating has given me so much more than I could have ever dreamed of achieving competitively, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this incredible journey. I want to say a huge thank you to NISS and the rest of the team for making all of this possible and for being part of something truly historic for our sport. To the entire USA Team, thank you for the support, the friendship, and most importantly, for making me feel like we are truly one team. Jeff, Layla, Montre, Rick, Lauric, Steph, Eric, Aairin, Phil, and Ray , thank you for everything! ✊🏽🇺🇸 also big thanks to USAR, Isaac and his committee. A very special thank you to Jessi, for always being by my side, believing in me, supporting me unconditionally, and helping me through the moments when I need her the most. ❤️ And I couldn’t end this post without thanking the Real federación española de patinaje (RFEP) for always being there, supporting me, and showing me so much love and appreciation. You always make me feel welcome, valued, and at home. Thank you all, and a special thanks to those incredible people who support and help me every single day, often behind the scenes. You know who you are. See you all back on skates soon! ❤️
Before we head into #ChicagoMarathon madness enjoy some final Javelina training camp shenanigans. From the soothing sound of gravel crunching underfoot to the random shit that can only make us chuckle miles into a hot long run, camp had it all. Happy to have shared it with some good company. #BrooksRunning
