We believe in magic.

Bonus pic of the former Major Magic’s ASPR location in Sylvania, OH, which is now a bingo hall. Looking inside was very liminal. You can still tell what it used to be.

Most people think sober living is complicated. It’s not.

You’re not providing treatment. You’re providing structure and housing. County programs handle the counselling. You handle the roof over their head.

The model is straightforward:

8-10 residents per home. The county pays $800-$1,200 per bed. No complicated laws because we use licenses instead of leases.

I went from 0 to 18 homes in 5 years.

Now I work about 1 hour a week. Family’s taken care of. And our residents have stable housing while they rebuild.

I recorded a full breakdown of exactly how this works. The financing. The systems. The mistakes to avoid.

Comment “SOBER” and I’ll send it.

On Monday, Homeland Security officers raided the Washington, DC, home of US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in an investigation reportedly tied to immigration paperwork filled out by her father when she was a minor.

That was, at the time, more than enough cause for alarm. Trump’s animosity toward Omar, who is Somali-American and an outspoken critic of the administration, is well-known, and the raid is an extraordinary violation of the Justice Department’s usual rule to avoid taking visible action around politically sensitive cases within 60 days of an election.

But later on, we learned more about the raid from the Wall Street Journal. The Omar investigation, the Journal reported, is explicitly aimed at stripping Omar of her citizenship — and thus her ability to hold office — and deporting her.
