Today is my day.. 💙🎂

With each passing day, I’m moving forward in life, embracing new experiences and creating beautiful memories.

The tiniest little girl I used to be is slowly growing up, one step at a time. 🥹⭐️

My birthday has always been, and will always be, my favorite day of the year..✨

Andreas Almgren of Sweden and Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya won the New York City Marathon on Sunday. It was Almgren’s first marathon, and he finished with a time of 2:06:01. Chepkirui, who also won in 2024, pulled away from two challengers in a late dash to win in 2:24:36.

Marcel Hug of Switzerland won the men’s wheelchair race in 1:28:14 for his eighth New York win. Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland won the women’s wheelchair division in a time of 1:40:02 — more than eight minutes ahead of the next two competitors.

About 60,000 more runners and even more spectators have taken to the streets. At the link in our bio, follow live marathon updates from all five boroughs.

The Atlantic is reporting that Army Lt.Gen. Brett Sylvia, the director for strategy, plans and policy for the Joint Staff, known as the J5, was fired this week. No reason has been given publicly, however his biography has been removed from the public website for the J5.

A Joint Staff spokesperson thanked him for 32 years of service. Unnamed defense officials told the Atlantic Secretary of War Pete Hegseth lost confidence in him and that he did not get along with Under Secretary Elbridge Colby. He is the second J5 director pushed out in the past year, per the Atlantic.

The J5 is the Joint Staff’s strategy and plans directorate. In general it helps turn presidential and civilian guidance into military plans and links the combatant commands, the Pentagon’s civilian leadership and the White House.
