New collaboration between Alexander Hacke & Jacob Kirkegaard:
FFOSSO presents Waste - A new instrument featuring sounds from the material world

For film scores, ambient compositions, sound design, and experimental work — Waste delivers evolving drones, near-percussive industrial textures, and four blendable sound sources that carry real physical presence. Running on the Orbits engine, its X/Y field moves fluidly from industrial weight to spectral drift, intimate to cavernous, with the kind of depth that’s hard to synthesize and impossible to fake.

The sounds come from inside the material itself. Jacob Kirkegaard records using accelerometer sensors pressed directly into scrap metal, mountains of crushed glass, sewage rivers, and incinerator machinery — not microphones pointed at surfaces, but recordings from within. What he finds there is unexpected resonance and strange beauty hiding in matter most people would rather not think about. Curated by Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten, a band that spent decades finding music in demolition.

Available now, as part of FFOSSO Pro
