I know it’s a little late, but I wanted to share some pictures of my trip to see my Garza family. I always have the best time with them. I feel the love!
It was Easter and the twins birthday at the same time that’s why they’re opening gifts.

On Wednesday I was fortunate enough to be given an Honorary title of “Doctor of Arts” by @bathspauni and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Firstly, I’d like to start by saying congratulations to everyone who I met yesterday and anyone at all who has graduated this year. Also, to anyone who has worked for an actual doctorate this is by no means anywhere near as impressive as anything you have done or achieved, nor will I pretend it is, serious hats off to you all.

When I got offered this opportunity my initial reaction was disbelief; as I wondered why I deserved such a privilege. I even questioned accepting due to the over consuming imposter syndrome. However, that is a feeling I’ve felt a lot over the last few years and the opportunities I’ve been able to experience because of that feeling of “why me?” have been the best of my life.

So, I accepted despite that feeling due to one main reason. When I was at uni (and to an extent to this day) I feared judgement. I knew I wanted to make videos because I’d watched them for years and had a desire that I’d not felt for anything else before; but I didn’t act on it because it wasn’t comfortable and I was scared what people would think. That feeling hasn’t left, rather it’s become easier to deal with the more I branch outside of my comfort zone. Appearing on other people’s channels, dancing and public speaking would’ve felt even more alien to the version of me that hadn’t yet started posting and putting himself out of his comfort zone. So I accepted because if any 1 person resonated with that maybe they could take a bit of a leap themselves.

I don’t think I’m the best or most talented content creator around and I don’t class myself as “successful”. However, to me that shows you don’t have to have it all figured out or be the final article to give it a go.

It was a true honour and a privilege to be considered and one hell of a side quest. So thanks again to Bath Spa University and to you all for allowing me to have a job I wake up daily wondering how I got so lucky.

Göksel’in o içimize işleyen Sen Orda Yoksun şarkısını, Harbiye’de Gazapizm’in o sert ve samimi duruşuyla yan yana dinlemek son zamanların en sürpriz müzik olaylarından biri oldu. Göksel’in yeni albümü Rüyaların İşi konserinde sahneye bir anda Gazapizm’in çıkması, açıkhavadaki binlerce insanı şaşkınlıktan ve coşkudan adeta havaya uçurdu.

Sen Orda Yoksun, aslında 2015 yılında Göksel’in kendi kalbinden dökülen, o en çok sığınmaya ihtiyaç duyduğun anda yalnız kalışını anlatan efsane bir şarkıydı. Ama Harbiye sahnesinde Gazapizm’in o isyankar enerjisiyle Göksel’in naif ve buğulu sesi birleşince ortaya bambaşka bir katarsis çıktı. “Sen orada yoksun” feryadı, iki tamamen farklı müzikal dünyanın sahnede birbirine sarılmasıyla devleşti.

Sosyal medyada da bir anda viral olan bu uyum, aslında taban tabana zıt gibi duran iki tarzın aynı kırgınlıkta nasıl tek bir yürek olabileceğinin en taze kanıtı. Gerçek bir sanat, hangi janrdan beslenirse beslensin, aynı samimiyeti paylaştığı an tüm mesafeleri bir saniyede yıkar. Harbiye’de o gece yükselen bu ortak çığlık, taptaze enerjisiyle hafızalardan kolay kolay silinmeyecek.
