Happy Birthday to THE Bard!

No one writes human nature like Shakespeare — that’s why, centuries later, his work still feels uncomfortably relevant.

Lately I’ve been exploring themes of submission… and how some men expect it, while failing to create a space where a woman feels safe enough to truly surrender.

Which brought me back to Kate’s final monologue in The Taming of the Shrew.

A comedy. A “transformation.” A moment we’re meant to celebrate.

But is it?

Is this a happy ending —or a woman broken into submission, starved, manipulated, until obedience looks like peace?

I don’t believe Kate is broken.

I think she sees everything.

And instead of rebelling… she adapts.

She takes her power back. She regains control of the narrative.

This is my take on Kate. Not defeated. Not tamed.Fully aware.
