Small town transformation in North Central WA and mediations on a corresponding Reddit thread.
Down the Reddit rabbit hole of username DrMo_UC’s post “The Bend-ification of Wenatchee” where mostly outdoor enthusiasts in the region discuss if Wenatchee, WA is the next Bend, OR while observing months & months of new builds & developments in the Apple Capital of the World. The town’s oldest brick building (first & second slides, the original courthouse/jail from the late 1800s) is slated to become “the centerpiece of a culinary and cultural hub, linking Wenatchee’s past to its evolving downtown.” The new build surrounding it is slated to become “the majestic” where the builders want to “elevate your idea of apartment living” offering “sophistication around every corner.”
- BlumpkinPatchStocks said, “way more bobs in Wenatchee than Bend. The company I work for used to have an office in Wenatchee. I would be there for 3 days and I swear we would eat at 3 different restaurants, all called Bob’s.“
- Tarekith responded, “The town itself is sorta meh, great location close to the outdoors things.”
- RoyalRenn confirmed, “town is somewhat “meh”. More of a regular town than an upscale resorty mountain town where everyone is over-educated and under-employed.”
- FullHornet4907 reiterated, “Wenatchee is a cute town, but there isn’t much to do there. On top of that, it’s kind of in an annoying spot.”
- EstablishmentLimp301, “is this a joke?”
