I’ve never been a fan of “You must,” “You must not,” “You should,” or “You’re not allowed.”

But lately, in a podcast, I shared something I had almost forgotten about.

After our trip to Bali, where we were trying to finish our book, Diane came to me on January 1st and said, “Reinhold, I’ve decided to stop drinking alcohol.”

We had both always enjoyed a good glass of wine. Sharing a bottle over dinner, raising a glass with friends. We enjoyed it.

But that day, she made her decision. For herself.

And I thought, “Hey, why not?”

More than nine months later. Neither of us has touched alcohol. And we love it! We sleep well, feel awake, clear-headed and more conscious. Wonderful!
But that’s not really the point.
The point is that in a relationship, nobody should have to tell the other person what to do.

She is free to decide. So am I.

No rules. No pressure. No obligations.

Two people making their own choices. Sometimes, happily, the same ones.
This is one of the best things about being together.

Just wanted to share that with you today.

Comment DRESS for all the links - especially if you need to spice up your date night. And no I’m not trying to dress like I’m 30. I’m trying to show the 30 year olds that you don’t have to change the way you dress - UNLESS THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. I’m level 57 and the best part of this level is I could care less what strangers have to say is appropriate for me. My money, my life, my page, my prerogative.
