This stunning cashmere scarf is really something of beauty - and it’s from a rather special company called @purschoen The name is a mash up of two German words - “pur” meaning pure and “schön” meaning beautiful - how gorgeous is that! The story began in the early 70s when a young Hamburg man called Alexander Frieborg set off for Asia equipped with nothing more than a backpack and a head full of dreams. He fell in love with the landscapes, cultures, and markets across India, Tibet, and Nepal and decided to stay. Over the course of several decades, long before the brand was ever born, Alexander deeply integrated himself into the local communities. He learned to speak fluent Nepali and formed lifelong, fair, and familial business relationships with local Himalayan weavers and artisans. This is why @purschoen is so special - Alexander also developed a unique production technique in Nepal where the scarves are washed repeatedly and hand felted, so they feel super soft, slightly rumpled and lived in - so different from mass produced cashmere. And Alexander always gives back to the community, providing scholarships for children at the Mountain Children’s Home in Kathmandu. As I say, this is a very special company. I’ve linked everything in Stories and my October Highlight ✨ Outfit Details: Scarf @purschoen * Coat @phaseeight * * PR #purschoen #cashmere #cashmerescarf #caringbrand #leopardprintscarf
