EXCLUSIVE: Inside Pres. Trump’s repairs that crews say will finally stop the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool from leaking through the gaps. Watch the video to see the repairs up close. I’m the only reporter to get access to the pool. DETAILS: The crew showed me the final and most important step in stopping where most of the 16 million gallons of water leak each year. The seven acre pool is built from six massive concrete slabs. Between them are expansion joints, flexible seams that let the concrete expand and contract with temperature changes while keeping water inside the pool. Trump’s restoration crews are now rebuilding those joints after a $34 million repair completed during President Obama’s administration failed to solve the problem. Workers walked me through the process and showed me the materials being used before the final blue sealant is applied. The repairs are intended to stop the loss of 16 million gallons of water each year. It’s a four step process they’re doing now on the pool. I’ll keep running around Washington to report updates. The Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, taken in Sierra Nevada, Granada. I wanted to capture it at 50mm just above the mountains, but I discovered this puddle reflecting so much that it seemed to have its own light. I could clearly see how beautifully it reflected just by looking at it. This area is one of my favourites in the summer Milky Way as it’s rich in nebulae, dust, and colors. Still, there are some details yet to be revealed! 15 years gone in the blink of an eye 🎈 Tomorrow I turn 33!
