My mother, father, and I went to get our motorcycle licenses together when I was 15. They only had one stipulation, always wear a helmet, not just while you're in our house but anytime you ride. I promised and we all got our licenses. No matter how dweeby riding a Harley with a helmet can seem some times I made that promise and will never break it. It's been fifteen years later and I still haven't. I don't really care about myself but not only would it be awful for pedestrians to see my head crushed it would crush my parents to know they got me something that eventually lead to my preventable death.
