Welcome to part two of my house tour with @claret.and.key

I can’t quite believe how much this house has changed in a week. The wallpaper went up and suddenly everything just clicked.

In my bedroom I wanted something soft and feminine, so I fell for Grace, with its delicate little dots and tiny floral sprigs. There’s a hint of grey running through it that sits so beautifully with my vintage French style furniture.

The girls’ room is where my heart melted a bit. They’ve been begging for a bunk bed forever, so the move felt like the perfect excuse. Of course they chose pink, and I let them pick their own wallpaper too. We pored over about eight designs before they landed on Francis, and seeing how proud they are of “their” room has been the best part of all of this. It’s a queen size, so I can still squeeze in for bedtime stories.

Then there’s the snug, otherwise known as the girls’ playroom and home of our Friday TV dinners. I took a bit of a risk with Bronte in Autumn, because I love a busy print in a small room, and it’s paid off. It’s like bringing the outdoors in, and it makes me want to light a fire and toast marshmallows on a cold evening. There’s no rug, curtains or lamps yet, but it’s already sneaking up the ranks as my favourite room.

Which wallpapers your favourite? AD

Austin Abrams has made a career out of looking like he’s one bad moment away from falling apart. He was Ethan on @euphoria, held his own between Brad Pitt and George Clooney in Wolfs, and barely held it together in @zcregger’s horror hit @weaponsmovie. Now he’s the lead in Cregger’s Resident Evil reboot, and in Whalefall he plays a grieving son trapped inside a sperm whale with 60 minutes of oxygen. His @weaponsmovie costar, newly minted Oscar winner Amy Madigan, wanted to know all about it for our Fall issue. Link in bio.

finally got to put that dr. there. alhamdulillah.🥹🫶🏻

🎃 YOU KNOW ME FOR FASHION… BUT HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY BRAIN GOES INTO HALLOWEEN OVERDRIVE?! 😂👻

My head is genuinely the craziest place on earth, and some of the ideas that come out of it are absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! 🤣 Plus @shakirakhan16 has performed at almost everyone of my sons parties throughout the year and she is SPECTACULAR @aprincesstoyourdoor

You might know me from socials or from presenting TV fashion shows, creating outfit formulas and styling looks for you… but there’s another side to me.

I EVENT DRESS. AND HALLOWEEN IS WHERE THE MADNESS REALLY BEGINS! 🎃😱

Every year, we go ALL OUT, creating a Halloween spectacular for the kids, including a private party for my son Frankie Jack and his friends.

And the result? OVER 1,000 TRICK-OR-TREATERS AT OUR FRONT DOOR! 🕷️💀

The atmosphere is incredible, the kids absolutely love it, and it’s all about fun, community and making magical memories. ❤️

So, I’m taking you back through some of our creations over the years to show you just how wild my imagination can get!

⚠️ If Halloween really isn't your thing, this one probably isn't for you! And that's absolutely fine. ❤️

But if you love creativity, spectacular displays and seeing what happens when someone has a slightly crazy idea and takes it WAY too far… you're in the right place! 😂

BE HONEST… HAVE I LOST THE PLOT?! WHICH INE IS YOUR FAVOURITE? 👇🎃

For years, I was afraid of what people might think of me. ❤️

I worried about being judged, about people not understanding me, and about what would happen if I showed this side of myself to the world.

And looking back, I realize how much time I spent worrying about things that hadn’t even happened yet.

Accepting myself didn’t happen overnight. It took time to become comfortable with who I am, to stop questioning whether it was okay to enjoy the things I love, and to realize that I don’t need everyone’s approval to be happy.

I’m a guy who loves dressing up, doing makeup, wearing heels and expressing a feminine side of myself. And for a long time, I struggled with accepting that those things could simply be part of who I am.

But here’s something I’ve learned along the way: you don’t have to fit into someone else’s expectations to be happy with yourself. 💕

And I think that’s something so many of us struggle with, whether it’s about how we look, what we wear, who we love, or simply being a little different from what others expect.

These days, I’m much more comfortable being Julia. I go shopping, go out, meet new people and enjoy moments I once thought I’d never have the confidence to experience.

Of course, I still have insecurities. We all do. But I’m no longer letting the fear of being judged decide what I can or cannot enjoy.

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this:
Don’t spend so much of your life worrying about what other people might think. You deserve to enjoy being yourself, too. ❤️

And if you’re reading this while struggling with accepting a part of yourself, whatever that may be, I hope you’ll give yourself the time and kindness you deserve.

Life is too short to hide the things that make you happy. 🥹💕

What’s something you’ve learned about accepting yourself as you’ve gotten older? ✨
