Internal view of a Victorian maisonette in London transformed with a contemporary two-storey brick extension. Large sliding doors open the living spaces to the garden, while a projecting window seat creates a sheltered place to sit and enjoy views. The extension reconfigures the home around natural light, storage and a stronger connection to the outdoors.

In this project a dark and fragmented Victorian maisonette is reinvented as a light-filled family home with a strong connection to the garden.

A 2 storey extension and full internal reorganisation open up the living spaces to daylight and views , whilst carefully integrated storage keeps the compact plan feeling simple and uncluttered.

The angled shift between house and garden quietly shapes the architecture throughout the project — from the extension form to the joinery and window seat overlooking the garden.

The clients described the finished home as “visually stunning and a joy to live in.”
