ویدیویی دل‌شکن از مغولستان در فضای مجازی احساسات بسیاری را برانگیخته است؛ جایی که یک گاو، لحظاتی پس از فروخته شدن به دلیل مشکلات مالی، به سمت صاحبش برگشت تا او را در آغوش بگیرد. در این ویدیوی پربازدید، این حیوان احساساتی دیده می‌شود که نمی‌تواند از مردی که او را بزرگ کرده و سال‌ها از او مراقبت کرده دور بماند و دوباره به سمتش می‌دود. این لحظه تأثیرگذار، خیلی زود دل بینندگان را به درد آورد؛ چرا که به نظر می‌رسید این گاو وابستگی عمیقی به صاحبش دارد؛ پیوندی که فراتر از کلمات بود. کاربران شبکه‌های اجتماعی این صحنه را هم دردناک و هم زیبا توصیف کردند. بسیاری گفتند که این ویدیو اشکشان را درآورده و یادآوری کرده است که حیوانات هم مانند انسان‌ها احساس عشق، دلبستگی و رنجِ جدایی را تجربه می‌کنند. این خداحافظی احساسی واکنش‌های زیادی به همراه داشت و بسیاری از ارتباط عمیق میان این مرد و حیوانش، با وجود شرایط سخت زندگی، تمجید کردند. عده‌ای نیز به سختی‌های پنهانی اشاره کردند که خانواده‌ها در دوران مشکلات مالی با آن روبه‌رو می‌شوند. چیزی که قرار بود یک خداحافظی تلخ باشد، به لحظه‌ای جهانی تبدیل شد که به میلیون‌ها نفر یادآوری کرد عشق و وفاداری میان انسان‌ها و حیوانات می‌تواند چقدر عمیق باشد. «وفاداری فقط مخصوص انسان‌ها نیست؛ بعضی قلب‌ها بدون حرف زدن هم دوست داشتن را بلدند.»

“This is our press conference!” About 20 activists took over a police update Thursday in Madison, Wisconsin, furious after officers fatally shot a homeless man. One activist took the microphone from Chief John Patterson, arguing he was attempting to defend the officers. Videos online captured four police officers struggling with 38-year-old Corey Durell Ruiz in the street Wednesday. Ruiz injured one officer with a knife, per police. At least one officer hit Ruiz with their Taser. Another officer then kicked his leg down as another shot Ruiz several times from point-blank range. Ruiz is identified as Black or Latino in Wisconsin court records. Patterson gave few details about the shooting Thursday, saying a state investigation is ongoing. It’s not clear what led to the confrontation. Police have said they were attempting to arrest Ruiz, who had felony convictions that include robbery, strangulation, resisting an officer and causing bodily harm. None of the officers wore body cameras. Protesters have marched in the city in the wake of the shooting.
