Constructed & designed by Mokichi Okada as a representation of “Paradise On Earth”, This is the Sekirakuen Part of the Shinsenkyo / The Hakone Museum of Art. A garden characterized by the bold use of giant rocks, which were excavated in the precinct. Its central location offers the splendid view of the surrounding mountains, incorporating a glimpse of the Sagami Bay in distance.

I was blown away by how beautiful and peaceful it was in the garden. I grew up coming here quite regularly & It’s been years since I’ve been back. I never did fully appreciated the Shinsenkyo until now. It felt great just to be able to walk amongst the rocks and trees and enjoy the landscape and surroundings.
