Iconic Mistake is the debut release from 303 Reasons. The track serves as both an introduction to the label and a glimpse of the first EP, set to follow a few weeks later.
The spoken voice tells the story of the Roland TB-303, originally designed as a bass accompaniment for guitarists practicing alone. Its synthetic sound failed to convincingly imitate a real bass guitar, which led to poor sales at first. Later, visionary musicians rediscovered it and brought it into electronic music, giving birth to Acid House. The rest, as they say, is history. If you know, you know.
