Here’s a quick weighted core workout you can do to build a stronger, thicker, more defined core while improving stability and control.
Weighted core work should be the priority if your goal is building visible abs and a stronger core. Focus on controlled reps, full range of motion, and keeping tension on your core the entire set.
Full Weighted Core Routine (SAVE & TRY)
1️⃣ Weighted Hips Up Alternating Knee Tucks
Keep your hips elevated, brace your core hard, and alternate driving knees in slowly while maintaining control the entire time.
2️⃣ Weighted Feet In & Out
Lean back slightly, put the weight on your legs, extend your legs out slowly, then pull knees back in without swinging or using momentum.
3️⃣ Weighted Russian Twists
Keep your chest up, rotate side to side under control, and focus on twisting through your core instead of just moving your arms. Make sure you touch the ground on every rep.
4️⃣ Weighted Dead Bugs
Hold the weight above your body with your arms locked in place the entire set. Keep your lower back pressed into the floor as you slowly extend the opposite leg while keeping your core tight.
5️⃣ Weighted Suitcase Crunches
Hold a weight in your hands with your arms extended overhead and legs straight out. As you crunch up, bring your knees in and transfer the weight from your hands to your legs, then extend back out slow under control.
2–4 rounds (10–20 reps per exercise or close to failure)
Slow, controlled reps so you can fully engage your core and build strength, stability, and definition 🔥
