Paco de Alpaca

My morning after 𝘚𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘪 𝘋𝘶𝘫𝘦 started quietly as I wandered into 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘑𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘱𝘢 𝘑𝘶𝘳𝘫𝘢 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘢 to get to the old city. 🌳🦙 Tall trees covered the park in shade while locals rested on the old stone benches around me. 🌿🪑 Since 1859 this garden, known as Đardin, has been one of Split’s favourite green corners away from the busy streets. 🌸🏛️ The park is named after Josip Strossmayer, a Croatian bishop and politician who strongly supported education, culture, and the arts in Croatia during the 19th century. 📚🇭🇷 I stopped at the beautiful 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘢 𝘍𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘢, a charming hexagonal fountain with a small putto (an angel-like figure) drinking from a shell at the top. ⛲🐚 Just beyond the trees, I spotted the old Bell Tower and Chapel of the Holy Arnir. 🔔⛪ It is the last remaining part of a medieval monastery that later became a convent before much of it disappeared during World War II. 🏰📜 Walking here so early made Split feel peaceful again after yesterday’s celebrations. 🌅🇭🇷

Mijn ochtend na 𝘚𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘪 𝘋𝘶𝘫𝘦 begon rustig toen ik door 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘑𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘱𝘢 𝘑𝘶𝘳𝘫𝘢 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘢 wandelde om naar de oude stad te gaan. 🌳🦙 Sinds 1859 is deze tuin, beter bekend als Đardin, openbaar en een van de favoriete groene plekken van Split, weg van de drukke straten. 🌸🏛️ Het park is vernoemd naar Josip Strossmayer, een Kroatische bisschop en politicus die zich in de 19e eeuw sterk inzette voor onderwijs, cultuur en kunst in Kroatië. 📚🇭🇷 Ik stopte bij de prachtige 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘢 𝘍𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘢, een charmante zeshoekige fontein met bovenop een kleine putto (een engelachtig figuur) die uit een schelp drinkt. ⛲🐚 Net voorbij de bomen zag ik de oude klokkentoren en kapel van de heilige Arnir. 🔔⛪ Het is het laatste overblijfsel van een middeleeuws klooster dat later een convent werd voordat een groot deel ervan verdween tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. 🏰📜 Zo vroeg wandelen liet Split weer vredig aanvoelen na het feest van gisteren. 🌅🇭🇷
