Imagine having to remember digits of pi just to turn the volume down. Thatā€™s the kind of problem programmers invent for r/badUIbattles, a Reddit community dedicated to making basic digital tasks painfully difficult. Entering a phone number becomes a battle with sliders. Selecting a birthday turns into a guessing game. Even a checkbox might only cooperate half the time. The challenge is to build an interface that technically works while making you regret every click. Judging by the submissions, making something this annoying takes considerable skill. @powerade responded to Novigā€™s scantily clad Sydney Sweeney campaign: womenā€™s sports have never been ā€œjustā€ sports. The Coca-Cola-owned sports drink brand is joining the backlash against the prediction market companyā€™s controversial creative with its own digital outdoor ads that celebrate women athletesā€™ determination and resilience. Supported by content on Poweradeā€™s social channels, the work turns Novigā€™s ā€œJust Sportsā€ slogan into a rebuke of the ads that have been criticized for sexualizing women in sports. @ogilvy, part of WPPā€™s dedicated Coke agency, Open X, touted the campaign in a social media post today that emphasized Poweradeā€™s history of supporting female athletes. The post depicts the response running in Times Square with an adjacent image of the Novig ad. ā€œWhen the conversation around how women are portrayed in sports started to pick up, we felt it was important for Powerade to share our perspective and reinforce whatā€™s always been at the heart of our brand: athletes,ā€ Leah Macko, Poweradeā€™s VP of brand marketing, said in a statement. Poweradeā€™s investments in womenā€™s sports include two NCAA March Madness campaigns with @flaujae, Paris Olympics work featuring @itsshacarri and @_katie.grimes_, and campaigns with Alex Morgan and Tatjana Smith. The brand said it will continue that support in 2027 through its partnerships with the U.S. Womenā€™s National Team and the FIFA Womenā€™s World Cup. šŸ“² Read about the full campaign at the link in our bio. šŸ”—
Chapter 32 šŸ™šŸ½ Another year of life. Another year of learning, growing, loving, and figuring things out. Iā€™m grateful for the life Iā€™ve built, the people Iā€™ve met, and everything Iā€™ve experienced along the way. The good, the bad, and everything in between. One thing life continues to teach me is to appreciate whatā€™s in front of me while working toward whatā€™s ahead. Show up for the people you love, but donā€™t forget about yourself along the way. Iā€™m proud of how far Iā€™ve come, but even more excited about who Iā€™m becoming. Hereā€™s to more life, more love, more peace, and more memories. āœŒšŸ½ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ½ #year32
