Conversation is my life’s work.

It’s the thing I’ve dedicated my career, my research, and so much of my heart to because I truly believe that the way we connect with one another can change our lives.

Being a New York Times bestselling author has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. To see Conversation on that list is something I don’t even have the words to describe.

It’s one of those moments you dream about for so long that when it finally happens, it almost doesn’t feel real.

But what makes this moment even more special is that I didn’t get here alone.

Every person who bought a copy, shared a post, recommended the book to a friend, showed up to an event, or cheered me on along the way played a part in making this possible.

You helped take something I care so deeply about and bring it into the lives of people who need it.

In a world that can feel increasingly disconnected, distracted, and lonely, I hope this book reminds people that the conversations we have with one another still matter.

That being seen, understood, and genuinely connected to another human being is one of the most important things we can experience.

Thank you for believing in this work.

Thank you for believing in me. And thank you for helping me bring this dream to life.

I will never take this moment, or the community that made it possible, for granted.

WE did it. ❤️

With so much love and gratitude,

Vanessa

Kashi will always be my favourite. 🤍

I’ve been to so many beautiful places, and I know there are so many more I’m yet to see, but there’s something about Kashi that I don’t think any other place can replace for me.

Maybe it’s the mornings by the Ganga, the random chai stops, the crowded lanes, the sound of bells everywhere, or just sitting at the ghats doing absolutely nothing.

I don’t even know how to explain what I love about this city so much.

It just feels familiar. It feels like a place I’ll keep coming back to, no matter how many other places I travel to.

And every time I leave, I already know I’m going to miss it.

Some cities become your favourites because of what you see there.

Kashi just feels like mine. 🤍

And if I get to come back here again and again, with the people I love, I think I’ll always be happy.

You, me and our Kashi. Always. 🪔
