Neighbors, a Halloween display outside a home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is sparking controversy after residents and the local NAACP raised concerns.
—————————
The display, located outside a home in Bristol Borough, features what appear to be bodies wrapped in black bags hanging from a tree. While the homeowner appears to have incorporated the decorations into a spooky Halloween setup, critics say the imagery carries a disturbing historical significance.
—————————
The Bucks County NAACP has called on the homeowner to voluntarily remove or modify the display, arguing that the decorations are offensive because of their resemblance to the history of lynching. In a statement shared on social media, the organization emphasized that Halloween decorations intended to frighten or shock people can still cause harm, regardless of the creator’s intentions.
—————————
The organization is urging the homeowner to reconsider the display and make changes voluntarily. It was not immediately clear whether the homeowner planned to remove or modify the decorations.
