Section 9, Major Kusanagi is on site! I’m thrilled to share the first batch of photos from my Ghost in the Shell photoshoot with @josephchilin! I made the full costume from scratch for @kodanshamanga - a huge honor! Photos by @josephchilin I chose the iconic white trench coat look because it looked like a solid sewing challenge! And I’m weak for a good coat design. Real leather outer, holo metallic lining from my @cosplayfabrics collection. The padded sections were not fun to make 😅. Process video coming soon. The bodysuit and gloves were also made with my @cosplayfabrics, the navy superpreme and a geometric texture. The belt is leather with a fun triangle buckle! And yes, I made the shoes by altering and painting a pair of sneakers. My wig was styled by @malinda_chan using a @purplepluminc base wig Brian had the P-90 prop gun for the past 20 years because we are big GitS fans and Shirow has featured that gun in his art! I will make some of Major’s weapons this winter. We shot at a studio in Brooklyn that I’m not sure I can recommend because a lot of features were not in good condition… we made it work! After visiting Kodansha House NYC (free entry through October 18th in Hudson Yard!), @josephchilin met up with me again to take some photos at the Vessel! I love that photo so much! Tons more Kusanagi content to come, hope you will enjoy! #kodansha #kodanshamanga #kodanshahouse #ghostintheshell #majorkusanagi
