HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis It’s official! The Democrats have not only flipped the House of Representatives, but have also flipped the Senate, seizing control of Congress from the Republicans. ___________________________________________________ According to CBS News, there were 35 Senate seats up for election in the midterms on Tuesday (November 3). And with the help of Americans across the nation, Democrats picked up four seats needed to gain control of the Senate. There were three major upsets in Texas, South Carolina and Kansas, plus additional seats in Ohio and North Carolina. Democrats also held onto seats in Georgia and New Hampshire.  ___________________________________________________ According to a map from The Associated Press, Democrats secured at least 51 seats by 11:46 p.m. EST. The Republicans held 39, with the tallies still being counted. Despite the remaining votes to be reviewed, Congress will become BLUE in 2027. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 NBC News
Oh Ma, what is this Maya? I came to see you, but you were hidden beneath the depths of the earth, flowers & offerings making an abode above & around you. I wanted to see you, I was craving for a glimpse that would shake the earth beneath me, but in these sacred places they're always angry Ma, they're grabbing people by the arms and flicking them around like objects, how many here truly love you? It seems to me that fear smells stronger than faith here. But then I remembered our discussion at dinner yesterday - you are the one that fulfils desire. You are the embodiment of desire & fulfilment itself. I didn't come to ask for a desire of mine to be blessed, you have already taken my desires very seriously. For years, i've been trying to get it right. The blade of my clarity has been sharpened by the suffering of having to look at myself. I've been putting in the blood, sweat and tears into becoming a 'better person'. Who knows it better than you Ma? Practice this, study that, reflect on this, observe that. But today I pause at desire. The ones I've had and the ones I still have. I see that our desires can either pave the path for the kind of world we wish to create or push us into a whole we cant get out of. I see your Divine grace embodied in my desires, in the women who trust me and love me, in friendship, in the animals who bless me, in the people who welcome me into their homes and feed me like a baby, in the eyes of my daughter, in the love of my parents, in the fragrance of flowers, in the arms of my lover. Hasn't all of this been birthed in my mind and body first? It was you, wasn't it? Living your own desires through me? I wish I saw you more closely today, I wish they gave us time, I wish there wasn't a need to rush, but I promise you I'm still paying attention. I'm looking at you in my life, because YOU are always present. You are hidden but always there. You know my desires, you know where I'm going. Just keep showing me what I need to see, even when it seems hidden. And may my desires be of benefit not just to me and my loved ones but to all beings, everywhere. Jai Maa 🙏🌹
Strapped on the 38mm Facet Integrated Sports by @circulawatches to kick off the week in style! 😎 A perfect fit for #bluewatchmonday with that gorgeous blue/turquoise textured dial stealing the show. This German brand has really been ticking all the right boxes for me. The case and bracelet are full of beautifully executed angles, and I’ve done my best to capture those details here. The proportions are spot on, and I can see this 38mm version proving particularly popular. But what do you think? Who else loves an integrated watch? . . . . . #germanwatch #sportswatch #bluewatch #38mm
Ad I think the weather has turned with the new month. It's definitely time to increase the cosy layers. So what about these maroon coloured jeans from @saintandsofia ? I've worn them with the Ariella jumper in brown and berry stripe, Billie snake embossed boots and Rylee bag, all Saint+Sofia. I was going with a white shirt, but I thought this green one added something a bit extra. The jacket is old, but I've found a very similar one, so if you'd link the links, just ask below. Happy November, 8 weeks til Christmas! 😂 #saintandsofia #november #over50style #jeansoutfit
