Almost kept this to myself and myjournal—one Rameen insists she’ll someday sell and make a living out of But than I was reminded that gratitude sometimes deserves to be spoken, and I owe you all a heartfelt thank you for the love you’ve shown me over the years.Spent my birthday in my own home - something I was told can never happen this early with one saying more no’s than yes but here we are always believing in Allah’s power above all and the idea that whatever you want always comes to you when your neeyat is saaf-you just need that insane, unshakeable belief-the kind that survives both your worst days and your best days.Also also 2026 would mark 6 years in this world- wasn’t as easy as it seems to many but wasn’t as cruel as it is to many and the ease is/was mostly because of YOU all so Thank you for loving me while I stayed real, flawed, and not-so-“heroine” like on most days. I’ve just tried to stay true to myself..learning each day, slowly loving what I do without ever seeking validation for it.Giving my 100 percent or not doing it all. Dancing to my own rhythm, even when it never made sense to anyone else. Making my own choices and having no regrets . Choosing integrity, always no matter the cost and than also Choosing silence when I could scream.Smiling through adversity, while letting the universe play its role because it always does. Never caving to pressure, noise, intimidation, or power plays, and always, always listening to my heart. And I think… maybe that’s where the magic was all along and Maybe that’s the real meaning of growing up too -being true to your core, living life at your own pace, no matter what the performative world expects of you.Also Heart has been a bit heavy lately as we lost my best friend father to cancer some days ago so no celebration felt wholesome but maybe life is about going through both joy and grief with gratitude quitely anchoring the heart. Make a dua for him please 🤍Big big Love for all the birthday wishes and specially all the duas- Hope I can keep entertaining you all while keeping myself to me. I never used to understand how but slowly I am learning the ‘how’ and it all makes sense…xxx🤍

Made it to Lahore for a few hours just because my FOMO wouldn’t let me sit still and that’s rare for me. I had only heard stories, held a few blurred memories and pictures from when I was four but seeing Lahore like this today felt truly wholesome and heartfelt 💋But in all the glitz, colour, and celebration, I hope we don’t forget to ask for more. To question what we’re told. To demand better -for ourselves, and even more so for the generations to follow. To not choose silence just because it’s easier.May we stay loud when it matters, humane in our choices, and zinda-dil as ever. 💛🪁✨Ps I love my city — its people, and its beautiful habit of celebrating every little joy like it might be our last because that’s what life is all about 💋🫂

Zes lafaards hebben afgelopen nacht de Mevlana-moskee in Rotterdam aangevallen. Ze vernielden een mozaïekmuur, gooiden bierflesjes naar het gebouw en urineerden tegen de gevel, terwijl er op dat moment gelovigen aanwezig waren in de moskee.

Volgens de Islamitische Stichting Nederland hoorden aanwezigen agressief geschreeuw en harde klappen. In een tijd waarin moslims en moskeeën steeds vaker doelwit zijn van haat en intimidatie, voelden bezoekers zich ernstig bedreigd.

Burgemeester Schouten noemt de aanval “volstrekt onacceptabel”. Zij benadrukt dat dit gedrag haaks staat op de vrijheid van godsdienst en de waarden van respect die Rotterdam zegt uit te dragen.

Wat de woede verder aanwakkert, is dat de politie niet direct op de melding afkwam. Volgens de ISN werd het incident niet als voldoende dreigend beoordeeld. Een beslissing die de organisatie totaal niet begrijpt. Wanneer een gebedshuis wordt aangevallen en aanwezigen zich onveilig voelen, mag snelle bescherming geen discussiepunt zijn.

De politie verdedigt de keuze door te stellen dat de verdachten tijdens de melding al in een taxi waren gestapt, waardoor de acute dreiging volgens hen voorbij was. Vooralsnog is niemand aangehouden, maar volgens de politie staan alle zes de verdachten duidelijk op beeld. De ISN verwacht dat hun opsporing de hoogste prioriteit krijgt.

En deze aanval staat niet op zichzelf. De afgelopen periode werden meerdere moskeeën in Nederland doelwit van vernielingen, bedreigingen en haatacties. In Zaandam werd een moskeecomplex zwaar vernield, in Emmeloord werden versnipperde korans en haatboodschappen achtergelaten en werd de imam bedreigd, en in Middelburg werden discriminerende en anti-islamitische boodschappen bij een moskee aangetroffen.

Steeds opnieuw zijn gebedshuizen het doelwit van intimidatie en agressie. Organisaties die deze incidenten registreren en monitoren waarschuwen al langer voor een zorgwekkend patroon van moslimhaat en aanvallen op islamitische instellingen.
