If this doesn’t make sense please don’t tell me

I don’t lift to be smaller. I lift because the woman I’ll be at 80 is depending on the choices I make at 58, and I’d like to hand her a body that can still get up off the floor, carry her own groceries, and board a plane without someone holding her elbow. Here’s what changes in midlife: as estrogen falls through the menopause transition, women lose muscle and bone faster, insulin resistance climbs, and visceral fat starts to accumulate. Resistance training is one of the few interventions that pushes back on all four at once (and no, it won’t make you bulky; it makes you harder to break). You don’t need a perfect program. Two sessions a week, every major muscle group, and a weight that feels hard by the last rep. Add load when it gets easy. Lifting isn’t vanity. It’s independence. Every woman deserves a strength plan as part of her long-term health. Start this week, start light if you have to, and start for her. What’s your reason for lifting, or your reason for not starting yet? Tell me below.
