Wow…An Emmy award!! I never imagined being part of something so meaningful for Atlanta. In 2024, I was asked to be featured in a documentary, Colors of Atlanta, highlighting photographers across different fields, with one mission: capture Atlanta in a single photo.
For my piece, A Seat at The Table: South’s Got Something To Say, I had the honor of working with Atlanta’s own born and raised
@chefrobertbutts to create a peach inspired tablescape celebrating Southern flavor. We also created two supporting images, an ATLien inspired sandwich scene on flying saucers (see what I did there) featuring some of Atlanta’s flavors, Lemon Pepper Wettt!, BBQ (cuz don’t sleep on our bbq), and a Brunch burger because we love our bruncy brunch!
My final image focused on Chef’s hands, symbolizing Black chefs in Atlanta who have seen the world, mastered global influence, and still return to the soul of Southern cooking. Honoring their roots and classic training.
Being part of this project was already such an honor, but to now say this documentary won an Emmy for Travel & Lifestyle? Truly the cherry on top.🥲🤗🙏🏽
