Ondo Monarch, Oba Bakare D+es After Collapsing And Spending 24 Hours In A Coma

The Onidogun of Idogun in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Moses Ekundayo Bakare, has d+ed after reportedly collapsing on Wednesday.

The monarch was taken to a hospital, where he remained in a coma for 24 hours before passing away on Thursday evening.

His d+ath comes nearly a year after a crisis rocked Idogun in October 2025, when some residents allegedly a$saulted him in an incident captured in a viral video. Following the incident, Oba Bakare reportedly left the community and remained away until his d+ath.

The Ondo State Government subsequently set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the incident, but its report has yet to be made public.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, who is also an indigene of Idogun, confirmed the monarch’s death. He said the community’s chiefs informed him of the development and conveyed the government’s condolences to the late monarch’s family and the community.

Ajanaku also appealed to residents to maintain peace and order and avoid violence during the mourning period.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that some indigenes opposed to the late monarch prevented his remains from entering Idogun on Thursday. The residents reportedly blocked the road with logs of wood, forcing those conveying the body to return it to a mortuary in Owo.

A Halloween party is going viral after guests shared photos of the unusual party favors being handed out: glow-in-the-dark Jerkmate condoms. Instead of the usual candy or goodie bags, guests were given glowing green condoms that quickly became the talk of the night.

The photos quickly made their way around social media, with people joking that the party looked more like a rave. Some thought the condoms were a hilarious Halloween gag, while others were more concerned about what would happen when someone turned the lights off.

Would you take one home from a Halloween party? 💀
