How to make a witch’s broomstick. Traditionally, the handle of a witch’s broomstick is cut from an ash tree or a hazel bush. Sadly because of the terrible disease ‘Ash Dieback’ I would strongly recommend using hazel for your broomstick handle. Hazel is strong and usually produces straight stems. Hazel bushes benefit from being cut to the ground level (a process called coppicing) and this produces new, long, straight and healthy stems. Bristles are traditionally made from Birch brushwood (twigs). Ideally you would use the flexible stems of willow to bind your brushwood to the hazel handle. However, I also used wire to give mine extra strength. I would recommend making your broomstick the same height as you are tall. Perhaps even a bit longer. The extra length to the handle makes it much easier to use in the garden and it looks much better than one of those short, cheap, nasty things that you can buy from a supermarket. Happy Halloween

Maas 🌙 🚨spoilers in annotations🚨 spoiler-free review so this series was a RIDE. oh my goodness. i am one of those fantasy girlies who is now starting to like urban fantasy, as it was difficult for me to actually get into it?! when i read fantasy i’m not sure what to expect, but there’s something about the urban aspect that throws me off?! i did listen up until around 200 pages of HOEAB on audio months ago, & i just couldn’t get into it. however, reading it definitely changed my perspective. i loved the characters so much, the banter was written so so well, & i was invested every single page. the POV’s were so fun, yet intense??!! now i know that ruhn danaan knows 3 things for certain 🤭 the character arcs in here definitely grew on me & the way they put their all in everything for the good of their people?! OOOOF. 🙂‍↕️ i have a soft spot in my heart for tharian, cormac & of course, ithan. i truly enjoyed how there were little pieces of TOG in here, as i couldn’t help but tear up. OH MY WORDDDD. it’s truly a prison. book 1 was obviously an intro book to the characters & it felt like there was a lot of romance, then book 2 it kind of was a mixture, followed by book 3 having a lot more of the fighting/fantasy w/ some yearning! i like that it was plot heavy & you get sooo many different types of creatures, & also surprise guests 😉 this series makes you feel a lot of emotion & has great themes of feminine rage, found family & soooo much world building! definitely keep going if you’re stuck on book 1!
