Protein doesn’t come from animals…it comes from plants first. Animals are just the middlemen. You can easily meet your protein needs by choosing foods like lentils, chickpeas, tofu, tempeh, edamame, beans, soy, nuts, and seeds etc: all packed with protein, fibre, and zero cholesterol. A simple dal + roti, tofu stir fry, or hummus bowl already does the job without the baggage.And no, eating plants doesn’t “kill more animals.” Most crops grown globally are fed to livestock, not humans; so eating animals actually causes more crop farming + more land use + more animal deaths overall. By eating plants directly, you cut out the middle step and reduce total harm significantly. On average, going plant-based can spare hundreds of land animals per year, while also reducing the hidden deaths tied to feed production. Let’s try to be kind to animals instead of hurting them when we have a choice :)

Tofu is generally a better choice than paneer because it delivers similar protein with far less saturated fat and no cholesterol, making it better for heart health, while also being easier to digest for many people (no lactose). It’s typically lower in calories, can be calcium-rich when fortified, and aligns with a plant-based diet that has a significantly lower environmental impact and avoids animal harm. Paneer can still be nutritious, but tofu gives you a cleaner, lighter protein source with broader health and ethical benefits!
