HAPPY FRIDAY!
Would you be happy paying 1.5% of your salary into a compulsory scheme for 40 years, with no option to opt out & you’ll never see a penny of it? πŸ€”πŸ’Έ I’m a primary school teacher, single and without children. Yet I’ve spent almost 20 years contributing to the Spouses’ and Children’s Pension Scheme. Over a teaching career, that could amount to €40,000+! And if I never have eligible dependants, there may never be a survivor’s pension paid on my behalf. I’m not against protecting families. I’m questioning why we don’t have a choice. I believe this deserves a review and discussion at Congress. πŸ“’ Whether you’re a teacher or not, does this seem fair? πŸ‘‡ Comment your thoughts and SHARE to get the conversation started! €40,000+ is an illustrative estimate, not my actual contributions. Limited refund provisions apply.
