Thank you to everyone who came to see my new lacquer paintings exhibited at @allprojectslimited through June - curated by @benniallan

The series of four small-scale paintings composes colour and light in layers of lacquer (rattan palm resin, seedlac, shellac, and urushi), in allusion to their origins in nature. These works adopt an unhurried and pragmatic tone, elaborating on the medium through pairing it back within the context of contemporary painting.
