Away is the opening song on ONE. Its out this Friday :)
it speaks to where i was at when i started writing. A big open road and not sure of the way yet. i knew that songwriting was the map and sensed somewhere there was a clear path, even if i couldn’t see it.
A beauty i come back to in this life is that sometimes when it feels like there is no way, it’s because there is so many ways to go in one moment. We stand at a crossroads mistaking infinite possibility for absence.
Stasis, for me…remaining still while contemplating every route i could take…is a kind of death.
Stillness is a different thing. It doesn’t have the same ascent or compulsion in it the way my contemplation does.
i don’t always end up where i thought i wanted to be. it is in utter chaos or in stillness, i see oh, there i am. it’s in those moments that everything is present. there’s a comfort in knowing that you are always arriving and you will end up, where you’re meant to
