We sometimes joke that life gives you exactly what you need as you get older. Your hearing gets worse, so you don’t notice each other’s annoying noises quite as much anymore. Your eyesight gets worse too, so you can no longer see every little thing that irritates you. Marriage is not the absence of annoyance. It’s the art of loving someone deeply while simultaneously wondering how on earth they still load the dishwasher like that after all these years. The truth is, the love of your life is a real, flawed, wonderfully annoying human being. And somehow, despite their quirks, you still choose them. Every single day. Of course, while I’m standing here judging Martin’s dishwasher-loading technique, he’s probably carrying around a deep, silent frustration about my habit of leaving sunglasses, lipsticks, notebooks, camera batteries, hair clips, tripods and random fashion accessories scattered throughout the house. In my defense, I’m an influencer. I’m always “working.” Marriage is basically two people saying, “You drive me slightly insane, but I’d still rather do life with you than without you.” And honestly, I think that’s quite romantic. ❤️ Also, we both need glasses now. 🤓 #andbloom
