He posted it himself, in his own words, with the heart-eyes for emphasis. He keeps his Texas residence at his parentsโ€™ house so he can turn Texas blue, because voting Democrat in New York City is like pissing into the ocean. Read that again slowly. A man who lives in New York is telling the world he votes in Texas, at an address where he does not live, because his vote counts for more there. If the boast is true, that is not a clever trick. That is voting where you do not live, and voting where you do not live is illegal in every state in the union, including Texas. The law is not complicated, and it is not a technicality. You vote where you live. Your residence is where your life is, not where your parents keep a spare room and your mail piles up. If his bed, his job, and his days are in New York, then his parentsโ€™ Texas address is not his residence, no matter how much he wants the state to turn blue. Domicile is not a feeling and it is not a strategy. It is a fact, and facts have addresses. Wanting it does not make it legal. Posting it does not make it brave. It makes it evidence. This is why the rolls matter, and why the residency rules matter, and why proof of citizenship and clean voter lists are not suppression but sanity. Every cycle the same people laugh at the idea that anyone would game the system, and every cycle someone posts the game plan in public with emojis. Texas has two days to decide a Senate race by a point or two. A point or two is exactly the margin a borrowed address is built to steal. Check the rolls. Enforce the law. The boast is already written down. All that is left is whether anyone does anything about it.
Itโ€™s a wrap! ๐Ÿ”ฅ After six years, my new feature documentary, A Girl Like Rose, is complete! Iโ€™ve put everything I have into this film, investing my time, money and energy so I could keep the production fully independent and give the story the time and attention it deserves. Given the sensitivity of the subject, Iโ€™ve deliberately kept the production under the radar for so long. Rose and her family have welcomed me into their lives throughout those six years, and their trust has brought me closer than a camera ever could on its own. Iโ€™m deeply grateful for that openness, even when life was painful, and for the journey weโ€™ve shared. โค๏ธ What has come out of this makes me so proud: a raw and intimate family portrait of the bond between a mother and daughter who love each other so deeply, yet are driven apart by addiction. How far would you go to save your mother, and when do you let go, if thatโ€™s even possible? With this film, I hope once again to move people and encourage them to look beyond their preconceptions about family relationships, addiction, the fashion world and all the worlds they think they know. If thereโ€™s one thing Iโ€™ve learnt over the past six years, itโ€™s that we donโ€™t help each other by judging before weโ€™ve taken the time to understand one another. It was an absolute joy to work with my creative partner and editor, Bastiaan Brand, once again and bring this film together in the edit. I canโ€™t wait to bring A Girl Like Rose to cinemas in 2027 and finally share this story with you when the lights go down.
