Haven’t even been here a week yet and I’M OBSESSED 🥹 like pinch me, can’t believe it’s real. It feels so good to have SPACE in our home to have a private driveway 😭 truly surreal. There’s so much character in this house and we are so excited to make it *ours* — the first big projects will be taking out a wall & adding built-in bunk beds for the boys. Aaand redoing the entire kitchen. But I’ve got my eye on that bookshelf wall 👀 we actually got a quote already for that bookshelf wall and Nick and I just laughed and laughed and thought nvm we will DIY 🤣 anyone want to guess what that would have cost? 👀👇🏼 Also I know it’s not a full tour but will share more as we begin to renovate room by room! Lmk what Qs you have! 😍
The Tragically Hip’s 1995 appearance on Saturday Night Live gave us one of the most memorable lyrical slip-ups in live television. Introduced by fellow Canadian Dan Aykroyd, the band launched into “Grace, Too,” but frontman Gord Downie stumbled over the opening line, singing “He said I’m tragically hip” instead of “He said I’m fabulously rich.” He caught the mistake almost immediately, but the moment became part of the band’s history. The appearance came during the touring cycle for Day for Night, the band’s 1994 album, and marked their only time as musical guests on SNL. Aykroyd had personally pushed for the group to appear on the show, helping introduce a band that was already hugely successful in Canada but less widely known to American audiences. Downie and the band later embraced the accidental lyric change, and he would sometimes sing “tragically hip” during subsequent live performances. A small mistake became a lasting piece of Canadian rock history. #TheTragicallyHip #GordDownie #SNL #GraceToo #CanadianRock
