I came to understand very early in life how image, perception, confidence, and visibility influence the way people are treated, and how they ultimately learn to see themselves.

By eighteen, I had already worked as a television presenter and was appointed a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, which exposed me early to international institutions, diplomacy, and the complexity of multilateral systems.

Then I won Miss World, and that experience deepened my understanding of how visibility, perception, access, shapes opportunity.

Years later, through leadership in public service and international diplomacy, that understanding deepened. I came to recognize that long before systems shape outcomes, people shape themselves.

And how women and men see themselves ultimately influences how they move through the world.

For years, I operated at the center of national life, where influence was exercised through policy, persuasion, diplomacy, and public office. But over time, a deeper understanding began to emerge, one that extended beyond governance and into something far more personal.

That realization did not represent a departure from my purpose. It clarified its next expression.

Because beauty, when approached intelligently, is not superficial.
