Women are 51% of the population.

Yet only about 1% of healthcare research funding is spent studying women beyond reproduction.

Read that again.

Half the population.
One percent of the funding.

That’s why I’m climbing 79 miles.

Not for a medal.
Not for a finish line photo.
Not because it sounds inspiring.

I’m doing it because I’m tired of waiting for someone else to fix this.

As a surgeon, I’ve spent decades talking about what women need to age with power. Now I’m putting my body where my mouth is.

This September, I will test my Skeletal Longevity by climbing 79 miles over three days to raise awareness and funding for women’s health research.

Women can do hard things.

We can climb mountains.
We can build strength.
And we can close the women’s health research gap.

It’s time.

The moon has always fascinated me — a symbol of mystery, silence, change, and light in the darkness.

In this reel, I’ve gathered some of my moon-inspired paintings, ending with a magical moment: the moon rising above the Cathedral of Florence.

Accompanying these images is one of my favorite songs: "Come è bella la luna" by Giorgio Conte a beautiful tribute to the moon and its timeless magic.
