SUCK your stomach IN 🫪 all day to make it “look” flatter? THIS is for you ⬇️ The ability to HOLD your stomach in is not proof that you have a strong core OR your only option! There is absolutely a time and place for intentionally drawing in and contracting your deep abs during exercise, like BREATHING UNDER A BRACE 💪🏼 and when your daily life demands higher levels of strength. But walking around ALL day consciously pulling your BELLY inward is NOT the same as progressively strengthening your abdominal muscles and entire core unit. And holding any muscle under constant tension all day will not make it stronger ➡️ it actually WEAKENS it 🫠 Without the ability to RELAX, eccentrically lengthen and then contract and produce force again, a muscle can become overactive, fatigued and functionally weak. We can do BETTER! These six moves train what sucking in all day cannot: ✅ Rib cage mobility ✅ Thoracic rotation ✅ Deep and lateral-ab strength ✅ Serratus engagement ✅ Hamstrings to help reposition the pelvis underneath the rib cage ✅ 360 Breathing and pressure mangament And the BEST exercise for last ⬇️ MELT 🤤 over the ball and allow it to gently COMPRESS the front of your belly/ribs. This encourages your inhale to EXPAND into the sides and BACK of your body instead of sending the majority of your expansion FORWARD into your abdomen.
