Ten years ago, we took a risk that had no rulebook.
At the time, design studios didn’t open shops, filmmakers didn’t build their own galleries, and they certainly didn’t invite fans in… for free! There was no template for what we were about to do.
But we did it anyway. And it changed everything about how we work.
When we opened House of MinaLima on Soho’s Greek Street in June 2016, we were asking a question no one had quite asked before: could the designers behind one of the most beloved film franchises in history open their own space and let their work speak for itself? Not through a studio tour or a theme park, but according to the artists’ own vision, in its own home?
The answer, it turned out, was yes. Overwhelmingly, joyfully, yes.
We believe House of MinaLima was the first of its kind: an immersive, creative-led space allowing fans to step into the worlds that they love. We treated graphic prop design not as a behind-the-scenes curiosity, but as art worth experiencing, collecting, and travelling across the world to see.
This model has since been widely embraced across the retail, entertainment, and creative industries. We’re proud to have helped write that playbook.
What began as a three-month pop-up became a permanent flagship. Greek Street became Wardour Street. London became Osaka, Seoul, New York, Tokyo, Edinburgh, and other locations around the world…
A decade later, we’re still here: New books! New locations! New worlds to build!
Today, House of MinaLima is much more than a retail space; it is our creative laboratory and our idea incubator. All of it grew from the same belief that built this House: that design can make you fall in love with a story all over again.
To our collaborators, our team, and every person who has ever felt inspired to create, read or play—thank you.
Here’s to ten years, and the most exciting chapter is still ahead!
