Just a 20-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay, Bowen Island feels worlds away from Vancouver, and Mist Thermal Sanctuary is the reason to go. Tucked into a temperate rainforest on unceded Squamish Nation territory, this private thermal spa pairs a wood-fired sauna with a cold plunge circuit and a herbal tea bar, all set among towering conifers. It's the kind of weekend reset where the ferry ride itself becomes part of the unwind. Trade the city for the forest, even if just for a day. 📍Bowen Island, British Columbia Video by @olive_the_books For more travel tips and ideas, visit GoCanada.com and subscribe to our newsletter. i didn’t want to read my Bible every morning. but somehow, that’s what saved me. not as a one-time thing, but daily. from my own thinking, and from the version of myself that shows up when God’s Word isn’t in my system. before the Word was a daily habit, i was running on my own understanding. my own logic. my own feelings about who i was and what i deserved. and my own understanding had a track record: prison, destruction, a life i had to survive instead of live. the Word didn’t just give me information. it gave me a different lens, a standard to measure my thoughts against. before that i had no filter. whatever came into my mind, i acted on. whatever i felt, i followed. and feelings will lie to you every single time if the Word isn’t there to correct them. that’s what i had to learn. if i rely on how i feel to stay close to God, the enemy wins every morning he can make me feel off. so i stopped waiting to feel ready. i opened it anyway. and slowly, something shifted. not overnight, but the direction changed. my thoughts started to change, then what i believed about myself, then who i was becoming. all of it traced back to one decision. open the Word before you open anything else. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” day and night. not only when you feel like it, but day and night. the Word doesn’t need your feelings to work. it just needs your consistency. i built the Core of the Heart Daily app to help you build that habit every single day, with daily devotionals, mentorship with me, real scripture, hours of video teachings, plus instant answers rooted in scripture with GospelBot. comment APP and i’ll send you the link.
We were at the Doosan Bears’ final regular-season game ever at Jamsil Baseball Stadium this week. It’s been so long since I saw a KBO game that they were still the OB Bears last time I saw them play. Very sad to see Jamsil close and the Bears lose, but we did learn a lot of elaborate cheers. And tried out my new go-to stadium food: pig’s feet and sweet potato sticks.
It’s important to slip out of your comfort zone from Time to Time. That’s why I always do so many Colors for my cashmere collections. I love when I convince a client to try a color that she has never worn…..I always say try and then say no. Very often I see the eyes light up with appréciation. Imagine trying a color you never dared to Even consider before and you look at yourself in the mirror and think WOW I actually love this color on me. It’s like…..It’s a new me!!! Life reserves good surprises….but one needs to just step forward to let it happen. I did that recently. Stepped out of my comfort zone. Your girl Linda was asked out on a date…..First time since my divorce 22 years ago. True fact. Never asked out since 22 years. I think it’s the age. Rare is the man who wants to date a woman his age. To make a short story Even shorter…..We went out for one dinner and one lunch…..End of story. I will spare you the details. What’s important to me is I Said yes. It was fun getting dressed for a date again!!! At least now I know it’s a NO…..It could have very easily been a yes. I tried. No regrets. It was fun showing up for a date at 78!!! Now back to getting on down the familiar road: 1) Crown Cardigan @crimson_cashmere 2) Navy gabardine pant @nicholsonandnicholson 3) Best Jean Jacket out there @superstitchparismfg 4) Shoes @prada 5) Scarf @crimson_cashmere in collaboration with @destinsurl 6) Canvas Boat ‘n Tote @llbean 7) Sunglasses @oliverpeoples Moral of this story? Choosing cashmere Colors seems easier than dating…..Also I have started buying plants…..Thanks to my favorite gardener @terrywinters9141 for encouraging me!!! No, I will not buy a dog next. 😂😂😎😂😂 ❌⭕️❌⭕️

Well, I decided to take on the driveway with a power washer today. 💦💪😂 Leah said, “Just hire a professional and enjoy your day.” But NOOOO… I thought, How hard could it be? 🤦‍♀️ Let’s just say the driveway won, my back lost, and Leah was right… AGAIN! 😂 Moral of the story: Listen to your wife, hire the professionals, and spend the day relaxing instead of pretending you’re HGTV.
